From the President
I am delighted to serve ADAPE as the President of the SA/NT branch for 2009. Our branch of ADAPE is a diverse group, representing as many areas of development as possible – from the tertiary system, the secondary and primary school State, Catholic, Lutheran and Independent systems – from girls, boys and coed schools– from fundraising, marketing, enrolment, and alumni. This diversity is what makes our professional development opportunities so stimulating, and just the opportunity to meet and gain ideas from colleagues make ADAPE participation worthwhile.
The best way to get your money’s worth from ADAPE is to get involved - to this end we are offering a diverse range of topics in different time slots – breakfast and lunch seminars, afternoon ‘toolkit’ workshops and special interest groups. We hope this will give everyone a suitable time to attend – remember, "the woodsman that never stopped to sharpen the saw, became less and less effective at felling trees". Sharpen your saw at the next ADAPE professional development session!
The branch executive and I are here to serve you, our SA/NT members, so if there is any professional development that you would particularly appreciate, please let one of us know. We are trying to cover all areas of Development, both for the new members and the more experienced.
Your executive also looks for your input and would be pleased to discuss with you how you can participate in the management of the group.
I look forward to working with the branch executive, the Australasian Council and, most importantly, taking the opportunity to welcome you to ADAPE functions over the next twelve months.
