Please join us for the first ADAPE WA Professional Development event for the year on Wednesday, 24 March 2010.
We are very excited to have inspirational guest speaker, Gemma Sisia, Founder and Director of The School of St Jude in Tanzania, joining us for lunch.
Each ADAPE member attending is invited to bring along a guest (your Principal, Values Coordinator or Chair of Council) at no additional charge for the luncheon and guest speaker’s presentation.
Gemma Sisia will share with us her journey from Australia to Tanzania, and her extraordinary work, each day striving towards ending poverty through education.
Every day at the School of St Jude staff and students work hard to fulfil the school's philosophy of ‘Fighting Poverty through Education’, helping students break the cycle of poverty that has gripped their families for generations.
Your accompanying guest is invited to stay for the whole afternoon, or take his/her leave during the break.
After coffee there will be a brief overview of the Dean C Bowker Scholarship winners from 2006, 2007 and 2008, followed by a presentation from the 2009 awardee, Rebekah Bain, from Carey College. Rebekah will share with us how she has made great use of the scholarship funds to improve the marketing of Carey College through the development of their websit
A brief ADAPE WA AGM will follow. |
